In this article, we Will talk about consensus 2024 first overall pick Macklin Celebrini . He is a 6foot tall canadian forward, he currently plays with Boston University in the NCAA. After only 16 games played, Macklin managed to put up 16 goals and 16 assists, leading both his team and the NCAA in total points with 36pts as a college rookie . Last year in the USHL, a bit weaker league, The canadian forward absolutely dominated the league, he won lots of Awards such as: Rookie of the year, Player of the year, most goals (46), most points (86) and much more. He had a good World Juniors tournament with 4 goals and 4 assists as the youngest player but still best scorer on Team Canada. Celebrini's play stands out because he is well rounded. As a 17years old center, he is very responsible defensively but is even better at creating offense . He is a dynamic player with an excellent shot especially on one timers and really Nice skating abilities. He can easily beat his opponnents with his impressive puckhandling skills and confidence when driving in the offensive zone. the Boston Univ. Player is not a pass first type of player but can set up dangerous plays for his teammates using his above average hockey IQ. Celebrini likes to take risks by attacking the net or taking the middle of the ice when he can. He is seen as a Jonathan Toews type of player per Craig Button.He can be compared to Adam Fantili considering they both produced at a high level in the NCAA but Celebrini is more talented from What he has shown so far. He is projected to be a 1st liner. Because of his overall game and defensive aspect, celebrini's floor is high, his ceilling may not be as high as former 1st overall picks such as Bedard, but he sure has a lot of potential.
